Accessing Network Drives from Home    

  
  1) Open Network Properties:

  2) Click on TCP/IP – Dial-Up Adapter

  3) Double-click it or click on the properties button

  4) Click O.K. if this TCP/IP Information box pops up.

  5) In the TCP/IP Properties box click on the WINS Configuration tab.  Click on Enable WINS resolution.


Text Box: In the WINS Server Search Order box type in 136.204.34.149 then click on the Add button.
 
Go back to the box and type in 136.204.33.86 and click Add again.
 
Click O.K. to close the properties box.
 
Click O.K. to close the Network Properties box.
 
Windows will now build a driver information database.  When asked if you want to restart your computer now, say no.
 

Text Box: Dial-Up Networking Properties
 
Double click the My Computer icon, and double click on Dial-Up Networking.
Right click on the dial-up connection you use-
            Go down to properties and left click
 
Click on the Server Types tab.  Following the example to the left, make sure your settings look the same.  If not, click the boxes that need to be checked.
 
Click O.K. to close the window.
 
Close the Dial-Up Networking window, and if necessary, My Computer.
 
Then restart the computer.

  6) When you want to the network to use Microsoft Outlook or your network drives, connect to your ISP as usual and log on to your   service.  You will need to log on to the campus network as well.  The network logon will be similar, but not exactly the same as   you use on campus.  You will need to use your campus username and password as well as the campus domain name, which is   CSNTPROD.  None of these names are case sensitive, but make sure you spell the domain name correctly.
