Installing a Nework Printer  

  1)  Go to Start/Settings/Printers.

  2)  In the printers window double click on Add Printer.


  3)  Click next in the window that appears.

  4)  In the Add Printer Wizard box you need to specify that it is a network printer you want to install.

 

  5)  Next enter the path of the printer.  The path is the location of the printer on the network.  For a complete listing of all public        network printers, click here.

  6)  Click on next.

  7)  Give the printer a meaningful name so you know exactly where the printer is (especially if you have more than one of the same        kind of printer).  For example: CIS225LAB – HPLASERJET4V.

  8)  Click on next.

 ** Do not print a test page at this time. (Click No.)

  9)  Click Finish.

 ** The proper printer drivers will now be installed on your computer and you should see the new printer listed in your printers folder. If you don’t see it press the F5 key to refresh the view.

 To set your default printer: In the printers folder right click on the printer you want as the default then click on set as default.
